BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Pilon is Professor and Principal Investigator at UQAM (Montréal, Canada). The research program of his laboratory focuses on the development of therapeutic options for rare diseases, and his team discovered the impact of GDNF on survival and enteric neurogenesis in Hirschsprung mouse models. Dr. Pilon holds the UQAM Research Chair on Rare Genetic Diseases and he is the General Director of the Center of Excellence in Research on Orphan Diseases – Fondation Courtois (CERMO-FC) and co-Director of the Network to Advance Research on Rare Diseases in Quebec (RARE.Qc). He holds a Ph.D. in biology from Université de Montréal (2001) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in developmental genetics at IRCM (2007).
