Dr. Di Lorenzo is a pediatric gastroenterologist and is currently Professor of pediatrics at The Ohio State University and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He holds the Robert F. and Edgar T. Wolfe Foundation endowed Chair in Pediatric Gastroenterology. The focus of his academic activities has been the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of gut-brain interaction and motility disorders in children of any age. He has served as President of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) and has held leadership positions within the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS), American Gastroenterology Association (AGA), Brain-Gut Club, American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). He has chaired both the Rome III and Rome IV Child-Adolescent committees and currently co-chairs one of the Rome V committees. He received the Master Award in Gastroenterology by AGA, the International Foundation for Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD) Clinical Research in Pediatrics Award, the Rome Foundation/Torsoli Foundation Award, the NASPGHAN Shwachman Award, and the ANMS Lifetime Achievement Award.
